81 <br /> 1 Slide #53 <br /> Future Planning and Opportunities <br /> The Agricultural Preservation Board (APB)Subcommittee is finalizing the draft <br /> update to the Agricultural Development and Farmland Protection Plan for initial <br /> presentation to Board of County Commissioners in Late Winter/Early Spring. <br /> January 15: APB meeting-gather APB member feedback on the current draft of the plan <br /> (circulated to members on Dec 15 for review). <br /> By January 30: Revised draft(incorporating APB feedback at 1/15 meeting)circulated to <br /> APB members and Staff for final comments or approval by Feb 7-prepare and submit <br /> abstract and schedule presentation to BOCC. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> 2 <br /> 3 Mike Ortosky said one last thing he wants to share is he is working with Amy Eckberg and <br /> 4 others on the possibility of a Department of Energy to install an agrivoltaics research project at <br /> 5 the Breeze Farm. He said Central Pines COG will help draft the plan. He explained agrivoltaics <br /> 6 for the Board. <br /> 7 Jonathon Smith said the goal of that project is to demonstrate to area farmers how they <br /> 8 can do it on their farm.
