She said as they raise taxes for the school bond, they can expect to need <br /> 3 to put more money into the Longtime Homeowners Assistance program. <br /> 4 Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked if the heirs of a property can access the program. <br /> 5 Aaron Rimmler-Cohen said no, because they would not have owned the property for 5 <br /> 6 years. <br /> 7 Chair Bedford said there is a distinction between heirs who want to live in the property, vs <br /> 8 those who want to be a landlord. <br /> 9 Commissioner Portie-Ascott said some heirs might want to move back and live in the <br /> 10 property, but repairs must be made first. She said they will need to keep the taxes up while they <br /> 11 make repairs. <br /> 12 Aaron Rimmler-Cohen said she brings up an important point. He said they run into that in <br /> 13 the county, but the NCH FA does not include regulations that are flexible enough.
