(Not an eligible use for start-up grant funds) <br /> <br />Purchase quote(s) and/or invoice(s) must be included in the application and match each of the specific <br />use of grant funds outlined in the application. For workforce expansion, the applicant must include <br />position detail, wage information and total amount of grant funding requested. <br /> <br />Non-Profit Applicants <br />• Workforce expansion is the only eligible use; to include employee salary (at or above the <br />Orange County living wage.) New job hires shall be with the intent to become permanent <br />positions. <br /> <br />For workforce expansion, the applicant must include position detail, wage information and total amount <br />of grant funding requested. <br /> <br />The grant recipient is bound to the use(s) of funds outlined in the application and approved by the <br />committee. Any change of use from those approved by the committee requires authorization from <br />County Economic Development staff and/or grant committee approval prior to funds being spent on <br />alternative uses. This approval will occur through the completion and approval of the “Change of Use” <br />form in the applicant’s Submittable Account. Deviation from this approac h may result in activation of the <br />“Clawback/Collections Policy” outlined at the end of this document Grant funds may not be used to <br />reimburse prior expenses incurred before grant funds are received. <br /> <br /> <br />GRANT PROCEEDS SHALL NOT BE USED FOR THE FOLLOWING <br />• To wards the cost of any tax implications, including any as a result of receiving the grant funds <br />• Re-granting funds and/or utilizing funds to cover a product or service that would be donated by <br />the grant recipient (scholarship and donation of goods/services) <br />• Vendor services not directly contributing to job growth/retention and/or revenue generation <br />within Orange County <br />• Non-Profit Agency fundraising that is not directly contributing to job growth/retention and/or <br />revenue generation within Orange County <br />• Paying off or reducing existing bank debt or investor loans <br />• Purchase of equipment or improvement of real estate to be used for personal use <br />• Rent <br />• Political activities <br />• Owner salary <br />• Speculative ventures (Examples: cryptocurrency purchases, commodity futures, lending or <br />investment). <br />• Real property held for sale or investment <br />• Pyramid sales - distribution plan businesses <br />• Foreign controlled businesses <br />• Private membership clubs <br /> <br />COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE REGULATIONS <br />In all cases, grants made from this program must be consistent and in accordance with the following: <br />• All state and local regulations governing the applicant's business. <br />• Terms and conditions established by the Subcommittee for each individual applicant. <br />• Policies established by the Board of County Commissioners dealing with the Grant Program. <br />• Ventures that implement planning and economic development policies which create a balanced, <br />dynamic local economy that promotes diversity, sustainable growth, and enhanced revenue while <br />embracing community values will also be given priority. <br /> <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 26B464DC-460A-488B-8187-1D05276D0A3D
