STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />ADDENDUM TO FOOD WASTE <br />CONTRACT <br />Addendum to that certain Agreement effective Ju]y 1, 2001, between The County of Orange, on <br />behalf of its Solid Waste Department, hereinafter referred to as "County" and Brooks Contractor, <br />herein referred to as "Contactor" for the collection and composting of food waste from <br />participating business establishments located in Orange County. <br />In consideration of the mutual promises and conditions set forth herein, the County and <br />Contractor agree to amend the Agreement as follows: <br />1. The a6~reement to be amended to extend the contract period until June 30, 2005, <br />2. Beginning .July 1, 2004 the cost per ton shall be $77.25 for the first 1,250 tons collected. <br />3. Beginning .July 1, 2004 additional tons collected above 1,250 shall be charged at $56.65.. <br />4. Beginning ,Tiny 1, 2004 two Harris Teeter stores, # 117 and a second store to be named <br />shall be billed at $500..00 per site per month and their tonnage reported separately from <br />other billed tonnage,. <br />5. Beginning September 1, 2004 Contractor will begin servicing the following sites of <br />UNC-Chapel I-Jill for animal bedding, which must composted by contractor in an <br />environmentally safe manner with due consideration for' the health and safety of the <br />citizens of the County, at the frequency indicated- <br />Davie- Once every other week <br />Wilson Hall- Once every other week <br />Beard- Once per week <br />McGavran-Greenberg- Once per week <br />Berryhil]- Twice per week <br />Glaxo- Once every other week <br />BSRC- Twice per week <br />MBRB- Twice per week <br />Taylor- Once per week <br />Dental School- Once per week <br />FLOB- Twice per' week <br />Thurston- Bowles- Twice per week <br />Francis Owen Blood Lab- Once per week <br />Contractor will provide to UNC Chapel Hill and the County a calendar schedule of when <br />the pickups will occur. Sites and frequency may change by mutual consent of the county, <br />contractor and UNC-Chapel Hill. <br />6. Animal bedding sites will be serviced for a flat fee of $40.00 per site per pickup. <br />7, All carts used to collect animal bedding will be provided by UNC-Chapel Hill. <br />Contractor will be responsible for damage to the containers incurred during the pickups <br />with the exception of normal wear and tear.. <br />
