3041
22. Please provide a brief
description of similar past
achievements or projects
and evidence of
successfully meeting
proposed budgets and
timetables (2-4
sentences).
1) In early 2024, USS was awarded 1) $220,000 in funding
from the EPA to cover 60% of the costs of SCM
installations in the Bolin Creek watershed of Orange
County, NC, and 2) $69,156 from the Orange County
Community Climate Action Grant (OCCCAG) program to
match the EPA funding, providing 100% funding to install
sustainable stormwater infrastructure on underserved
properties in Bolin Creek. USS contract with nearby
Weaver Community Association, a Co-Op community
within the DEQ mapped area for the underserved, to treat
75% of roof-top runoff from 10 apartments with cisterns,
grass swales and a regenerative stream conveyance
(RSC). Several work days were held during which
community members, neighbors, and youth assisted with
installations. The project was completed in May and
publicly dedicated on June 1, 2024, at 102 Crest St.
Carrboro, with several elected officials from Carrboro,
Chapel Hill, Orange County, and NC attending. See the
full pictorial description of the completed project
(https://clarinet-cymbals-2lmg.squarespace.com/portfolio/weaver)

2) in November 2023, with $20,000 in grant funding from the
Triangle Community Foundation (awarded early last year)
and $12,500 from CDM Smith (awarded in December),
USS installed a 1500-gallon cistern at 1007 Braxton
Court, which was filmed as an educational video and used
for USS's training and certification of 5 public school
teachers at Millbrook High School in Wake County. These
teachers then taught and implemented the program
(available at
https://app.box.com/s/ju6g2vbgo4qxh6qxknvhx89grnse5nwu) with
28 students after school, completing cistern and rain-
garden installations on May 28, 2024, and receiving their
stipends at the end of the day. Via press release,
neighbors and the public were invited to stop by, witness,
and learn more about the USS program.

3) Other completed projects available upon request.
Docusign Envelope ID: 7E7D300B-F83F-4917-A8A3-638B79C7D566
