Would your proposed
project help you to take
advantage of funding from
other sources besides this
grant in the future?
Funding from the OCCCA grant will enable USS to better
assist low income households in Orange County in three
ways: 1) Leverage remaining EPA funds to be spent in low
income areas (by providing 40% match in the Bolin Creek
watershed) and expand USS installations to the Tom’s
Creek watershed and the areas around CW Stanford Middle
and Carrboro Elementary Schools in Orange County; 2) Pay
teachers and students to job shadow environmental
contractors who are installing sustainable stormwater best
management practices in Orange County; 3) Enable USS to
use the OCCCA funds as matching funds towards other
grants we are pursuing, including from the Bank of America,
NC-DOJ Environmental Enhancement Grant program, and
Arbor Day Foundation.
20. Please describe any other
aspect of your project that
is relevant to the efficient
use of grant funds.
We are a volunteer board, and have additional volunteers
who assist with our programs. Our administrative overhead
is maintained at or below 10% of income. We believe in
minimizing expenses so that we can offer a greater number
of Triangle citizens our services.

Criterion 4 - Capacity of Applicant
This criterion has a maximum score of 3 pts (out of a total of 26 pts).

21. a.
