2541
news/state-investigating-dry-cleaning-chemical-contamination-near-
weaver-street-business/ .
15. Please describe any other
aspect of your project that
is relevant to the amount
of emissions that it will
reduce or avoid.
In addition to the direct CO2 emission reduction and
carbon sequestration resulting from our project, our BMP
installations—including site-dependent rain gardens,
riparian buffers, and rainwater-storing cisterns—will
substantially reduce sedimentation and pollution (nitrogen
and phosphorous) entering the surrounding waterways by
directing stormwater away from impermeable surfaces
(roofs and roads) and toward vegetation whose leaves
utilize these nutrients and whose roots stabilize the soil and
slow the flow of stormwater runoff
(https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/agricultural-and-biological-
sciences/riparian-buffers). Healthy waterways are integral to
reducing the effects of climate change and greenhouse gas
emissions moving forward:
https://www.annualreviews.org/doi/10.1146/annurev-environ-110615-085856.

Criterion 3 - Efficient Use of Funds
This criterion has a maximum score of 4 pts (out of a total of 26 pts).
Docusign Envelope ID: 7E7D300B-F83F-4917-A8A3-638B79C7D566
