The approved plan included <br />$39,600 far amid-size hydrostatic drive tractor and attachments, The tractor will be utilized for <br />multiple uses at both the County's parks and ball fields, The attachments will provide <br />capabilities that Recreation and Parks does not currently possess. The attachments identified <br />for purchase are: <br />• 4 in 1 bucket for handling material <br />detachable backhoe <br />• 72" rotary cutter for mowing <br />care aerator <br />• 2-3 cubic yard spreader/dresser for materials such as lime, fertilizer, soil, sand, etc. <br />The equipment proposed by the responsive low bidder is adiesel-fueled John Deere model, <br />The manufacturer indicates that the equipment can be operated on a biodiesel fuel mixture. <br />Specifications were developed and informal bid number 1375 was solicited. The bid call was <br />sent to seven potential bidders, and four bidders responded, Byrd Tractor of Burlington, NC <br />submitted the lowest bid that was responsive at a total delivered cost of $41,326. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: While the approved Equipment and Vehicles Capital Project Ordinance <br />includes $39,600 far the tractor and attachment purchase, there are sufficient funds realized <br />through savings from other equipment and vehicle purchases to cover the additional $1,726 <br />needed to meet the lowest bid, <br />
