6 <br /> Housing Term —A F1 0- e I <br /> AMI –Area Median Income In 2024 in the Durham/Chapel Hill metro area, this is $105,900 for a family of four <br /> Low-income 80% of AMI –$84,700 for a family of four; $59,300 for a single person <br /> Very low income 50% of AMI –$52,950 for a family of four; $37,100 for a single person <br /> Extremely low income 30% of AMI –$31,750 for a family of four; $22,250 for a single person <br /> CoC –Continuum of Care HUD Definition: "A community plan to organize and deliver housing and services to meet the specific needs of <br /> people who are homeless as they move to stable housing and maximum self-sufficiency. It includes action steps to <br /> end homelessness and prevent a return to homelessness." <br /> OCPEH The CoC for Orange County: Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness <br /> HOME Committee Collaborative partnership operated by OCPEH in which area service providers meet twice monthly to discuss <br /> clients and refer for services <br /> Transitional Housing Temporary housing with supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, with the goal <br /> of interim stability and support to successfully move to and maintain permanent housing. A client in transitional <br /> housing is still considered homeless and not in a form of permanent housing. An example is IFC's shelter, which <br /> can be from 90 days to 1 year. <br /> PSH - Permanent Supportive Combines rental assistance with voluntary supportive services to address the needs of chronically homeless <br /> Housing people. The services are designed to build independent living and tenancy skills, and connect people with <br /> community-based health care, treatment and employment services. <br /> Rapid Rehousing A program offering housing search, move-in and rental assistance along with case management, on a temporary <br /> basis (no longer than 2 years). The goal is to quickly re-house someone who recently became unsheltered and <br /> transition them to more permanent housing. <br /> Housing First A policy that advocates unconditional, permanent housing as quickly as possible to homeless people, and other <br /> supportive services afterward (House first, add supportive services later). Rapid Rehousing is an example of a <br /> Housing First program. <br /> HCV– Housing Choice The modern name for Section 8 rental assistance program serving "very low income" residents <br /> Voucher <br /> ORANGE COUNT' <br /> HOUSING DEPARTMENT <br />
