For coated vision glass, comply with requirements for Condition C (other uncoated glass). <br />5. Provide Kind FT (fully tempered) float glass in place of annealed or Kind HS (heat- <br />strengthened) float glass where safety glass is indicated. <br /> <br />D. Insulating-Glass Units, General: Factory-assembled units consisting of sealed lites of glass separated <br />by a dehydrated interspace, and complying with ASTM E 774 for Class CBA units and with <br />requirements specified in this Article and in Part 2 "Insulating-Glass Units" Article. <br />1. Provide Kind HS (heat-strengthened) float glass in place of annealed glass where needed to <br />resist thermal stresses induced by differential shading of individual glass lites and to comply <br />with glass design requirements specified in Part 1 "Performance Requirements" Article. <br />2. Provide Kind FT (fully tempered) glass lites where safety glass is indicated. <br />3. Overall Unit Thickness and Thickness of Each Lite: Dimensions indicated for insulating-glass <br />units are nominal and the overall thicknesses of units are measured perpendicularly from outer <br />surfaces of glass lites at unit's edge. <br />a. Performance Classification per ASTM E 774: Class A. <br />b. Thickness of Each Pane: 1/4". <br />c. Air Space Thickness: 1/2". <br />d. Sealing System: Dual seal, primary and secondary sealant: manufacturer's standard. <br />e. Spacer Material: Manufacturer's standard metal. <br />f. Dessicant: Manufacturer's standard; either molecular sieve or silica gel or blend ofboth. <br />g. Corner Construction: Manufacturer's standard corner construction. <br />4. Sealing System: Dual seal, with primary and secondary sealants as follows: <br />a. Manufacturer's standard sealants. <br />5. Spacer Specifications: Manufacturer's standard spacer material and construction. <br /> <br /> <br />2.3 INSULATING-GLASS UNITS <br /> <br />A. Solar Control Tinted Low-E Insulating-Glass Units: Manufacturer's standard units complying with the <br />following requirements (use tempered or heat strengthened where shown on the drawings and required <br />by the manufacturer and the NC Building Code): <br />1. Insulating Glass: PPG Commercial 1” Solarban 70xl (2) Tinted Insulating Glass Unit or <br />approved equal. <br />2. Exterior Pane: Tinted heat strengthened glass. <br />3. Interior Pane: Clear heat strengthened glass with Low-E high performance sputter coat on #2 <br />surface. <br />4. Overall Unit Thickness & Thickness Each Lite: 1/4” glass panes and ½” air space. Overall <br />thickness 1”. <br />5. Interspace Content: Air. <br />6. Tint Color: Selected from Manufacturers standard glass tint. Basis of Design is PPG Tint <br />Color “Solexia” <br />7. Kind: HS (heat strengthened). <br />8. Visible Transmittance: 58% <br />9. Summer U Value: 0.26 <br />10. Winter U Value: 0.28 <br />11. Shading Coefficient: 0.31 <br />12. Solar Heat Gain: 0.27 <br />13. Outdoor Visible Reflectance: 10 <br /> <br />2.4 GLAZING GASKETS <br /> <br />A. Dense Compression Gaskets: Molded or extruded gaskets of material indicated below, complying with <br />standards referenced with name of elastomer indicated below, and of profile and hardness required to <br />maintain watertight seal: <br />1.
