Concrete subfloor must be clean and free of all foreign materials or objects including, but not limited to, <br />curing compounds and sealers. <br />H. Fill cracks, grooves, voids, depressions, and other minor imperfections with Ardex (or equal) cement- <br />based patching/leveling compounds. Follow the manufacturers directions. Moveable joints must be <br />treated utilizing specific transitioning joint devices depending upon the architects recommendations. <br />Follow current ASTM F710 guidelines for the preparation of concrete slabs to receive resilient flooring. <br />1.9 WARRANTY <br />A. Materials: <br />1. The indoor resilient athletic surfacing shall be covered by the manufacturer against product defects <br />and against excessive wear under normal usage for 10 years and a 15-year wear through wear <br />layer with the surface as defined in ASTM F1303, section 6.1.3. Wear layer shall also be defined <br />as any visual deterioration in the floor surface (color and/or texture) from the uniform appearance <br />of the entire floor. Warranties shall not be prorated during the life of the warranty period. <br />B. Installation: <br />1. The installation of the indoor resilient multipurpose surfacing shall be covered against poor <br />workmanship and faulty installation by a two (2) year written, limited warranty provided by the <br />contractor performing/overseeing the installation. <br />1.10 EXTRA MATERIALS <br />A. Furnish extra materials that match products installed and that are packaged with protective covering for <br />storage and identified with labels describing contents. <br />1. Provide additional amount of approximately 1% of the total floor surface, of each type and colour. <br />a. Repair material must be from the same dye lot as material supplied for initial installation. <br />b. Maintain surface as per manufacturers instructions. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 MANUFACTURERS <br />A. Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide one of the following products or equal: <br />1. Basis of Design <br />2. The basis of the design for the indoor resilient multipurpose surfacing is Omnisports 6.5mm <br />GreenLay as manufactured by Tarkett Sports. All other installation accessories and related <br />components must be either made or approved by the indoor resilient athletic surfacing <br />manufacturer. <br />2.2 MATERIALS: Drawing Symbol AFL <br />A. Description: <br />1. Prefabricated sport surface 6.5mm (1/4) with wood flooring design and slightly textured <br />embossed surface. The wood design shall be protected by a clear layer of pure PVC (Polyvinyl <br />Chloride) and Top Clean, a factory applied UV cured urethane treatment. Intermediate layers <br />shall be fortified with a non-woven fiberglass grid for increased dimensional stability. The foam <br />force reduction layer shall be high-density closed cell PVC foam with honeycomb embossing and <br />is applied in one continuous manufacturing process. Laminated or adhered foam layers will not be <br />allowed. Field constructed products will not be accepted.
