Concealed Flashing: Dead-soft, 0.018-inch (26 gauge) thick stainless steel or .026-inch thick minimum extruded aluminum <br />alloy and type selected by manufacturer for compatibility with other components, ASTM A 240/A 240M of type <br />recommended by manufacturer. <br />G. Framing System Gaskets and Sealants: Manufacturer’s standard, recommended by manufacturer for joint type. <br />2.5 GLAZING SYSTEMS <br />A. Glazing: As specified in Division 08 Section "Glazing." <br />B. Glazing Gaskets: Manufacturer’s standard compression types; replaceable, molded or extruded, of profile and hardness <br />required to maintain watertight seal. <br />C. Spacers and Setting Blocks: Manufacturer’s standard elastomeric type. <br />2.6 ENTRANCE DOOR SYSTEMS <br />A. Entrance Doors: NA <br />2.7 ENTRANCE DOOR HARDWARE <br />A. General: NA <br />2.8 ACCESSORY MATERIALS <br />A. Joint Sealants: For installation at perimeter of aluminum-framed systems, as specified in Division 07 Section "Joint <br />Sealants." <br />B. Bituminous Paint: Cold-applied, asphalt-mastic paint complying with SSPC-Paint 12 requirements except containing no <br />asbestos; formulated for 30-mil thickness per coat. <br />2.9 FABRICATION <br />A. General: <br />1. Form or extrude aluminum shapes before finishing. <br />2. Fabricate aluminum entrance and storefront components to designs, sizes and thicknesses indicated and to comply <br />with indicated standards. Sizes and profile requirements are indicated on the drawings. Variable dimensions are <br />indicated, with maximum and minimum dimensions required, to achieve design requirements and coordination with <br />other work. <br />a. Thermal-Break Construction: Fabricate storefront framing system with an integrally concealed, low- <br />conductance thermal barrier, located between exterior materials and exposed interior members to eliminate <br />direct metal-to-metal contact. Use manufacturer’s standard construction that has been in use for similar <br />projects for period of not less than 3 years. <br />3. Complete fabrication, assembly, finishing, hardware application, and other work to the greatest extent possible <br />before shipment to the Project site. Disassemble components only as necessary for shipment and installation. <br />4. Perform fabrication operations, including cutting, fitting, forming, drilling and grinding of metal work to prevent <br />damage to exposed finish surfaces. Complete these operations for hardware prior to application of finishes. <br />5. Do not drill and tap for surface-mounted hardware items until time of installation at project site. <br />B.
