176 <br /> Phase I Environmental Site Assessment <br /> 5824 Morrow Mill Road <br /> Chapel Hill, North Carolina E S&ME Project No. 22580189 <br /> 5.2 General Site Setting <br /> 5.2.1 Current Use(s) of the Subject Property <br /> The subject property is predominately wooded with a small vineyard in the central portion of the subject property. <br /> Most building on the subject property are located on the north western portion and are used primarily for storage <br /> with one residence on the northwest property boundary. <br /> 5.2.2 Past Use(s) of the Subject Property <br /> Logging roads were observed throughout the wooded areas of the subject property. <br /> 5.2.3 Current Use(s) of Adjoining and Surrounding Properties <br /> The current uses of the adjoining properties were identified to the extent that they were visually observed from <br /> the subject property during our field reconnaissance or during interviews or in the records review. Descriptions of <br /> adjoining properties are provided below: <br /> North: Primarily wooded and residential with one light industrial building owned by UNC Chapel Hill. <br /> East: Primarily wooded. <br /> South: Agriculture and residential. <br /> West: Agriculture and residential. <br /> 5.2.4 Past Use(s) of Adjoining and Surrounding Properties <br /> No indications of the previous use of adjoining and surrounding properties were noted during the site <br /> reconnaissance. <br /> 5.2.5 Geologic, Hydrogeologic, Hydrologic, and Topographic Conditions <br /> The subject property has a hill in the central portion of the subject property that drains in all directions, but <br /> predominately south and northeast. A small pond is located near the central portion of the subject property. <br /> Two small tributaries run from in a west to east orientation that feed into Collins Creek. <br /> 5.2.6 Description of Structures and Roads <br /> The subject property has one permanent residence located on the northwest property boundary.There are several <br /> old tobacco barns and sheds located throughout the subject property but are concentrated in the northwestern <br /> portion. Several other non-permanent structures are located on the subject property and are primarily used for <br /> storage. <br /> Logging roads can be found throughout the subject property. The subject property can be accessed from the <br /> north via Morrow Mill Road and from the west via Gold Mine Loop. <br /> August 25, 2022 11 <br />
