109
Hands Four Development Cooperative
SW Orange County, NC
Page 4
The latitudes and longitudes of the proposed well sites are:
Well Name Easting (NC STATE Northing (NC Longitude Latitude
PLANE) ft STATE PLANE) ft
Well A 1937058 792235 -79.212580 35.926591
Well B 1937112 791484 -79.212402 35.924507
Well C 1937424 791729 -79.211323 35.925216
Well D 1936765 793446 -79,213588 35.929894
The proposed well locations should be surveyed by a licensed land surveyor to ensure they will
be positioned to meet all the setback requirements from final structures constructed on this
site. GMA does not offer professional land surveying services. The minimum horizontal
separation, as required by North Carolina well construction standards, is generally 100 feet from
all property boundaries, 100 feet from all surface water features (streams, ponds), and 100 feet
from pavement. Orange County may have more restrictive requirements, so the County should
be contacted during the permitting process to be sure the proper local setbacks are met. You
should expect that well depths will be between 200 and 400 feet below land surface.
GMA hopes this information will aid you in the development of your property. As you are
aware, developing a groundwater system as a source of water supply in the fractured rock
aquifers in North Carolina can be difficult and somewhat unpredictable. Therefore, GMA does
not guarantee successful well installation at any well sites we have proposed. GMA made
recommendations based upon our observations of the geology of the area, and we used our
experience to select sites that we believe have the greater probability of providing you with
higher well yields.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide this report to you. If you have any questions, please
feel free to contact me.
Best Regards,
Groundwater Management Associates, Inc.
►V f
r ,
William L. Lyke, P.G., P.E. Amy W.
