2 <br /> current Capital Investment Plan (CIP) for FY 2025-26. As funding for the County match is needed <br /> for each individual project, the funds will be moved from the County's Conservation Easement <br /> capital project. Some of the grant funding may be allocated to other land trust partners based on <br /> future project decisions that will be presented to the Board. The total agreement amount including <br /> maximum County matching funds will be $2,746,342. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE ACTION <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Incentivize and promote sustainable agriculture and local food systems <br /> development through supportive policy, funding, farmland protection and educational <br /> outreach. <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Protect water supply/watersheds <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Conserve and protect high priority open space, including Natural Heritage <br /> sites, nature preserves, watershed riparian buffers, and prime/threatened farmland. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board authorize the Manager to <br /> sign the Memorandum of Agreement approving the acceptance by Orange County of the <br /> Agricultural Growth Zone Grant through the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. <br />
