BACKGROUND: Charge: The Committee will assist county staff in interpreting and prioritizing the needs assessment information collected by the Department on Aging prior to the commencement of the design process. The Committee will assist as may be needed in public information initiatives that may occur during the design /construction process; and it will recommend the final plan for the Southern Orange Senior Center to the County Commissioners for approval prior to bidding of the project. In addition, the Committee will assist in planning an event celebrating the ground breaking and the opening of the Center in 2006. . Timeline: The Southern Orange Senior Center Design Committee will be engaged in the project at various times throughout the project, pursuant to the scope of work outlined in the charge. Composition: The composition of the Design Committee follows the same pattern and size as was approved by the BOCC for the Southern Orange Senior Center Design Committee. The following categories produce a balance of interests and perspectives from senior center users and supporters across the Central /Northern service area. 1.. Aging Advisory Board — One Member (1) 2. Friends of the Central Orange Senior Center— Three Members (3) 3. Central Orange Senior Center Program Participant — Three Members (3)
