2 <br /> the fiscal agent utilizing County funds (not to exceed $50,000) to initiate the project, with the Town <br /> reimbursing up to $25,000 either by offsetting costs during the construction phase or direct <br /> reimbursement if the project does not proceed by FY 2026-2027. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: In FY 2023-2024 the BOCC approved funding of $300,000 for the <br /> professional services site development planning by qualified professionals. There is no additional <br /> funding impact with this request. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE ACTION <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Invest in our infrastructure to reduce the environmental impact of the <br /> County fleet/facilities and improve safety. <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 5. Invest in, support, train, and retain our community safety, health, and <br /> emergency services employees and direct care workforce. <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Provide sustainable, equitable, and high-quality community safety and <br /> emergency services to meet the community's evolving needs. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br /> 1) Approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Orange County Emergency <br /> Services and Town of Chapel Hill co-location facility potential development of property <br /> located at Legion Road and Formosa Lane, Chapel Hill; and <br /> 2) Authorize the County Manager to execute the MOU, subject to final review by the County <br /> Attorney, and any subsequent amendments on behalf of the Board; and <br /> 3) Authorize the County Manager to execute the Professional Services Contract once a firm <br /> has been selected jointly by the parties, subject to final review by the County Attorney, and <br /> any subsequent amendments on behalf of the Board. <br />
