Contract Amendment <br /> PURPOSE: To: <br /> 1) Approve a contract amendment with Vaco, LLC for Payroll Audit Services; and <br /> 2) Authorize the County Manager to execute the contract amendment, subject to final review <br /> by the County Attorney. <br /> BACKGROUND: On July 15, 2024, the County entered a service contract with Vaco, LLC in the <br /> amount of $75,000 for financial reporting for federal and state grant awards and assistance with <br /> preparation of audit schedules. The attached contract amendment for an additional $35,000 for <br /> Payroll Audit Services exceeds the County's contract services threshold of$90,000 and therefore <br /> requires Board approval. <br /> As a best practice governments and businesses should conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure <br /> compliance, identify and correct any gaps, and revise policies and procedures as necessary. This <br /> payroll audit will include compliance with the County's documented policies and procedures. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Budget Amendment #3, which was approved at the Board's November <br /> 19, 2024, Business meeting, provided $35,000 in additional funding for this contract amendment. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 6: DIVERSE AND VIBRANT ECONOMY <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Review and revise County policies and regulations to support business <br /> investment in Orange County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br /> 1) Approve the contract amendment in the amount of$35,000 with Vaco, LLC for Payroll Audit <br /> Services; and <br /> 2) Authorize the County Manager to execute the contract amendment, subject to final review <br /> by the County Attorney. <br />
