2 <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Improve harm reduction, prevention, and support services for adults <br /> and children experiencing behavioral health issues, substance use disorder, and <br /> intellectual or developmental disability. <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Reduce impacts and barriers for justice-involved children and adults <br /> through deflection, diversion, therapeutic interventions, and re-entry support, including <br /> housing. <br /> Department on Aging <br /> 3. The Department on Aging has received $15,257 in donations. These additional funds will <br /> be used toward upgrades to the sound systems at the Seymour and Passmore Centers <br /> and cover additional instructor costs for art class offerings to support the Community Based <br /> Services program. This budget amendment provides for the receipt and use of these funds <br /> within the General Fund <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Invest in services and programs that improve the health and quality of <br /> life of the community (e.g., recreation and public open spaces, arts, etc.) <br /> Library Services <br /> 4. Library Services has received notification of additional revenue of $32,994 in State Aid to <br /> Public Libraries. These funds will be used to support collection development (library <br /> physical, digital and processing materials)for the Southern Branch Library in the Drakeford <br /> Library Complex. Library materials are used to support community lending, as well as <br /> inclusive programming opportunities. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br /> these additional funds in the General Fund. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Invest in services and programs that improve the health and quality of <br /> life of the community (e.g., recreation and public open spaces, arts, etc.) <br /> • GOAL 5: PUBLIC EDUCATION/LEARNING COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Improve school readiness and educational outcomes by providing <br /> access, training, tools, technology, and other resources needed to thrive. <br /> • GOAL 6: DIVERSE AND VIBRANT ECONOMY <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Provide family-oriented and inclusive programming or other cultural <br /> events for residents and visitors. <br /> Health <br /> 5. The Health Department has received an additional $11,375 from the North Carolina <br /> Department of Public Health in Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program funds, which <br /> will be used to provide breast and cervical cancer x-rays for qualifying patients, with a <br />
