The
park sits north of the new Marriott Residence Inn,
which Gensler also designed, and connects visitors
of the hotel to the community and neighborhood
at large. The development is a partnership between
private developer, nonprofits and government
agencies that leverages proximity to Johns Hopkins
as a strong driver for growth.
The upfront design process for Eager Park
presented an opportunity for Gensler to use some
new and existing visioning tools. Exercises were
developed over the course of three sessions in
which different community groups, stakeholders,
community advisors, and the public engaged with
each other.
The park consists of three main areas: The Grove
is home to a children’s play area, community
clubhouse, a health and wellness exercise
circuit, and the farmers’ market. The history of
East Baltimore and its residents is celebrated
throughout The Grove with artistic displays and
profiles of distinguished community members. The
Lawn encompasses a 150 foot-wide field dedicated
to a variety of outdoor activities and projects in the
arts and sciences. The Performance Amphitheater
is the main destination for outdoor performances,
stage productions, and community gatherings.
f.OCNC Experience & Qualificationsf.OCNC Experience & Qualifications
Docusign Envelope ID: EA417244-1B08-4F71-884E-045B78625FB7
