Our
team looks forward to the opportunity to work with you, local partners, and stakeholders in a process that will
empower the local community to actively participate and influence the planning for a trails master plan.
We are excited at the prospect of continuing our great working relationship with Orange County staff and
leadership as we wrap up a ten-month project leading community engagement for the Greene Tract Master
plan. We will bring our experiences from this successful process to bear on this effort to plan, lead, facilitate, and
coordinate public engagement and planning for a countywide trails plan. We aim to work with you to extend
the positive, trusting relationships that have developed as part of Orange County outreach associated with your
comprehensive planning.
We understand that the plan must prioritize engagement around building social equity through future public
investment in the built environment. We hope to amplify the impact of these investments affording future
generation with access to an improved, equitable, and resilient trails system to use and enjoy for decades to come.
We have assembled a team that balances world-class community engagement excellence with local expertise and
know how – to ensure that we deliver both an aspirational and implementable planning vision for the trails system:
• Gensler will serve as project lead, managing the overall project and team, as well as bringing an industry leading
community engagement process and master planning.
• Surface 678 will bring their expertise in landscape architect, design, and planning, and local knowledge of Orange
County.
• Palacio Collaborative will provide exceptional knowledge of costs to implement long term plans.
With our office in Raleigh, our team is rooted in the community and on the ground to carry out assessment,
engagement, and collaboration in real time with the Project Steering Committee and the public. We look forward to
working with you, staff, and leadership to fine tune the planning and engagement process. In collaboration with you
and your partners, we believe that our approach offers a strong combination of engagement expertise, relationship-
building, planning experience, and creative energy that will successfully meet your goals to create a successful trails
master plan for Orange County.
Thank you for considering our team for this important opportunity!
Chad Parker / Project Principal Jessica Pearson / Project Manager
Chad_Parker@gensler.com / 919-239-7828 Jessica_Pearson@gensler.com / 919-327-1862
613 Hillsborough St.
Raleigh, NC 27603
Tel 919-239-7828
Fax 919-239-7829
a.OCNC Cover Letter
Docusign Envelope ID: EA417244-1B08-4F71-884E-045B78625FB7
