Goal is to solicit and accept youth delegates mid-2025. <br /> Information Items: Presented by Tiani Stamey <br /> 1. OCAS Director position has been posted -hoping to have new director named by <br /> February 2025 <br /> 2. OCAS is currently running adoption specials <br /> 3. Last week had presentation to 7th graders by ACO and Program Coordinator <br /> 4. Recently had veterinary students complete shelter externships <br /> 5. Have a few events/workshops planned for veterinary students in December <br /> 6. Annual holiday potluck at OCAS will be on December 12th at 11 a.m. There will be a <br /> home-baked goods competition <br /> 7. There is a Dangerous Dog/Chronic Nuisance appeal being scheduled soon <br /> 8. Currently have 53 dogs and 73 cats under OCAS care. Many of the cats are in foster <br /> homes <br /> 9. Morale is currently good at OCAS. Chandler has been initiating fun staff events <br /> Informal Discussion: <br /> 1. Allan requested a tour of OCAS after January meeting for any interested ASAB <br /> members. <br /> 2. Dr. Lee Pickett continues to volunteer with DEGA for animal care in western NC post- <br /> Hurricane Helene and shared some success stories amidst the devastation and need.
