These four vehicle acquisitions are not an expansion of the OPT fleet, The existing vehicles will <br />be removed from the fleet and sold. Additional OPT fleet acquisitions will be reviewed under <br />the same energy conservation guidelines as established by the BOCC for all County vehicles. <br />Administrative funds will continue to be used to support the overall transit system management <br />and promote general ridership. <br />A public hearing is required with opportunities for public discussion and comments before the <br />Board takes action on the resolution. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The NCDOT Community Transportation Program Grant requires a 15% <br />local match for administrative funding of $27,093 and a 10% local match for capital funding of <br />$28,015. The total local or county match required for FY2006/2007 would be $55,108 <br />(comparable to years past when traditional vehicles were replaced, but inclusive of additional <br />costs for alternative fuel vehicles), Each year, the local match is addressed and authorized by <br />the BOCC as part of the County's normal budget process, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board <br />1, Conduct a public hearing to comments an the proposed grant application <br />2. Approve the Community Transportation Program Grant application for FY 2006/2007 in <br />the total amount proposed of $432,741 that includes a local match proposed of $.55,108 <br />3. Authorize the Chair to sign the Community Transportation Program Resolution and <br />Annual Certified Statements of Participation. <br />
