Fikes, ext 2490 <br /> Bid Results <br /> Work Specifications TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br /> -Durham 688-7331 <br /> Mebane 336-227-2031 <br /> PURPOSE: To award one housing rehabilitation contract for the HOME Housing Rehabilitation <br /> Program. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids from <br /> qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation <br /> Program. The informal bidding process is governed by North Carolina General Statute §143- <br /> 131 and does not require a minimum number of bids. Additionally, present program procedures <br /> provide that housing rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> Additionally, all contractors participating in the County's Rehabilitation Program are required to <br /> utilize current deconstruction and material recycling methods during the repair process. <br /> Sealed bids were solicited from participating contractors on May 28, 2002. Bid results are <br /> attached. Three bids were received with Taylor Home Improvement Company submitting the <br /> lowest bid. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The HOME Program provides total funding for this program. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends awarding the following housing <br /> rehabilitation contract: <br /> Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br /> 6803 High Rock Rd., Mebane, $14,220 Taylor Home Improvements <br />
