Orange County, North Carolina <br />VHF Paging System Upgrades <br />July 19, 2024 <br />Use or disclosure of this proposal is subject <br />to the restrictions on the cover page. <br />Motorola Solutions Confidential Restricted System Description 2-3 <br /> <br />• (1) GRV8000 Comparator <br />• (1) Juniper SRX Network router <br />• (1) Juniper Ethernet switch <br />• (1) TRAK 9100 redundant modular frequency and timing standard <br /> <br />2.2.2 911 Communications Dispatch Consoles <br />The MCC7500 consoles currently installed at the Primary Dispatch Center will interface to <br />the new simulcast system equipment Prime Site comparator. The GRV8000 comparator acts <br />as a four wire audio interface to the consoles and and IP intercace to the network and RF <br />stations at the RF sub sites. <br /> <br />2.2.3 Orange County Simulcast VHF RF Sites <br />The final RF sites ultimately to be used for the final county wide VHF simulcast paging network will <br />be determined by Orange County and will be selected from sites being utilized as part of the new P25 <br />simulcast network. The sites for phase one of the VHF Simulcast Paging network that are to be used <br />with equipment included in this proposal are listed below: <br /> <br />2.2.3.1 Eno Mountain Site: <br />New equipment will be installed inside the existing equipment building. A tower stress and <br />loading analysis will be performed to determine the status of the tower and feasibility of installation <br />of new VHF Antenna System. <br />Any costs related for structurally upgrading or improving the equipment shelter or tower shall <br />be the responsibility of Orange County and is not reflected in the costs for this proposal. <br />Equipment to be located at the site includes: <br />• (1) VHF GTR8000 radio <br />• (1) RF VHF antenna and transmission line <br />• (1) TRAK 9100 redundant modular frequency and timing standard <br />• (1) SRX345 Network router <br />• (1) Juniper Ethernet switch <br /> <br />2.2.3.2 Chatham Mountain Site: <br />New equipment will be installed inside the existing equipment building. A tower stress and <br />loading analysis will be performed to determine the status of the tower and feasibility of installation <br />of the new VHF Antenna system. The new antennas system will be installed at approximately five <br />hundred foot elevation on the UNC TV Tower. The lower level will be support simulcast networks <br />and minimize simulcast interference issues.
