She said she agrees with the points Commissioner Hamilton <br /> raised and noted that they have maximized income, which has resulted in funding for some county <br /> programs within the justice division. She said that she supports the $150,000 salary cap. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Fowler, to <br /> increase the salary cap for the ABC General Manager to $150,000. <br /> VOTE: Ayes, 5 (Commissioner McKee, Commissioner Fowler, Vice-Chair Greene, <br /> Commissioner Richards, and Commissioner Portie-Ascott); Nays, 2 (Chair Bedford and <br /> Commissioner Hamilton) <br /> MOTION PASSES <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Fowler, to <br /> increase the stipends provided to ABC Board Members as follows: <br /> • $150 per month ($1,800 annually) for ABC Board members; <br /> • $200 per month ($2,400 annually) for the ABC Board Vice-Chair; and <br /> • $250 per month ($3,000 annually) for the ABC Board Chair. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> b. Safe Route to School Plan <br /> The Board approved the Orange County Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Plan. <br /> BACKGROUND: The 2014 Orange County Safe Routes to School Action Plan was updated with <br /> public involvement, field investigation and extensive analysis. Detail information on the federal <br /> Safe Routes to School program can be found on the Federal Highway Administration website <br /> here (link). This update includes and is not limited to: <br /> • Planning level analysis of existing transportation around schools <br /> • All Orange County public schools <br /> • Youth involvement in the planning process <br /> • Implementation—Surface Transportation Block Grant(STBG), Transportation Alternatives <br /> Program (TAP) and others <br /> WSP as the consultant conducted the Existing Conditions Analysis, Draft Recommendation and <br /> finalized the Plan (Attachment 1). The Existing Conditions Analysis involved a comprehensive <br /> field study of each Orange County public school, focusing on a 2-mile radius around the school <br /> property. Orange County Transportation Services hosted a virtual public meeting with all the <br /> school principals and administration in accordance with the approved Scope of Work, Chapter 3 <br /> in the attached Plan. <br /> Public Involvement: <br /> • March 7, 2024 — OCTS, WSP, and Orange County Schools - Stakeholder Meeting <br /> • July 8, 2024 — Public Engagement event with Orange County Schools <br /> • July 9 to August 9 — Existing Conditions Report with Recommendations out for public <br /> review <br />
