32 <br /> Upon request and availability, County Planning staff met with Habitat for Humanity Policy and <br /> Advocacy Committee (Affordable Housing Coalition and Affordable Housing Advisory Board as <br /> guests); Chapel Hill — Carrboro Chamber of Commerce; and representatives of the Agricultural <br /> Preservation Board. Planning Staff also assisted several organizations with responses to <br /> questions, which helped to facilitate receipt of comments around the land use alternatives. <br /> Update on Recent Board of County Commissioners Items — At its October 15 regular meeting, <br /> the BOCC approved Contract Amendment 2 between Orange County and Clarion Associates to <br /> extend the contract term seven (7) months from September 30, 2025 to April 30, 2026 and provide <br /> additional services. A summary of additional services included: <br /> • Additional BOCC briefings; <br /> • Two public workshops; <br /> • Up to three targeted community meetings; and <br /> • Up to two additional meetings (one with the Planning Board and one with the BOCC) for <br /> recommendation on the draft Plan, public hearing, and adoption (original scope included <br /> two meetings). <br /> The compensation for the additional work included in Amendment 2 was up to $24,760, resulting <br /> in a maximum payable amount of $236,714. <br /> At its November 12, 2024 Work Session, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) received <br /> a presentation from Clarion Associates, which included preliminary outcomes of CEW #2 and <br /> Initial recommendations for the draft Conservation and Growth Framework.
