Advisory Board on Aging —Appointment Discussion <br /> 5 The Board discussed an appointment to the Advisory Board on Aging <br /> 6 <br /> 7 BACKGROUND: The Advisory Board on Aging suggests policy and makes recommendations to <br /> 8 the Board of Commissioners and the Department on Aging while acting as the liaison between <br /> 9 older adults of the County and County government. Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool —Appointments Discussion <br /> 23 The Board discussed appointments to the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool. <br /> 24 BACKGROUND: The charge of the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool is to hear appeals <br /> 25 concerning violations of the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4 ("Animal Control <br /> 26 Ordinance"), as provided in the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Section 4-53 Appeals, and <br /> 27 also potentially dangerous dog appeals as prescribed by North Carolina General Statute §67- <br /> 28 4.1(c). It is the responsibility of pool members to conduct fair and impartial hearings for these <br /> 29 appeals and they will receive training in both law and proper procedure prior to participating in a <br /> 30 hearing. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The Board of County Commissioners appoints twelve (12) members, with representation from <br /> 33 various fields. There are also two (2) members representing the Towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill, <br /> 34 and Hillsborough. <br />
