The Orange County Housing Department received a grant for $39,338 from the North <br /> Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to support the rapid <br /> rehousing program in 2025. The performance period for this grant award is January 1, 2025 <br /> — December 31, 2025. This program is administered in the Orange County Housing <br /> Department with assistance and oversight from the Orange County Partnership to End <br /> Homelessness. The program involves the provision of supportive services, tenant-based <br /> rental assistance, and related security/ utility deposits to eligible households. The Orange County Housing Department's Partnership to End Homelessness has <br /> operated in a multi-year fund for over 20 years. Over that time, there have been budgeted <br /> revenues that were never received, including funding from the towns. This amendment will <br /> correct for those absent revenues and reduces the budget by $405,240 and allow the <br /> Partnership to operate within its funding authority. This reduction in budget will not require <br /> any reduction in services. These corrections will occur in the Community Development <br /> Fund, outside of the General Fund. <br /> 8. The Town of Chapel Hill has contracted with the County's Housing Department to <br /> supplement the Longtime Homeowner's Assistance Program specifically for Town of <br /> Chapel Hill residents. The Town will provide an additional $75,000 to offset the tax bills of <br /> eligible residents in the town. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: HOUSING FOR ALL <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Address need and any policy barriers to increase access to emergency <br /> shelter beds and other low-barrier housing including eviction diversion. <br />
