<br />The County Administrator informed the Board that Tom Bivins, Veterans Service Officer, had <br />resigned and that 77.alter Wrenn was Currently filling this post. The County Administrator stated that <br />fir. Nlrenn had to forfeit a portion of his retirement pay in order to perform this service and that <br />he felt that the County should allow ter. Wrenn to continue in this post until July 1, 1965. No <br />further action was taken at this time. <br />Unon motion of Commissioner Bay, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland, the following resolution <br />was unanimously adopted: That the Orange County Board of Commissioners take the immediate necessary <br />action to locate a site for a water resevoi.r somewhere above Hillsboro on the Eno River or on one of <br />its contributors, with the very real possibility of building this water resevoir to serve the present <br />and the future needs of industries and the citizens of Orange County. <br />Further discussion ensued on Commissioner Ray's motion and it was agreed that Pearson Stewart <br />would be contacted and asked to meet with the Board to discuss further the information and data he <br />might have on water recourses and conservation for Orange County. <br />The Board asked that Phillip Green be requested to meet with the Board and discuss the mechan - <br />Ica of establishing a County Planning Board. <br />Jurors were drawn for the following terms of court: <br />March 23 Civil Term 2h names <br />March 29 Civil Term 2h names <br />April 26 Criminal Term 36 names <br />The following road petition was approved and the Clerk was quthorized to forward it to <br />the State Highway Commissi-in: <br />County Road #1937 <br />Chairman Bennett read a copy of a letter from clarion J. Foster, Executive Secretary, North <br />Carolina Hospital Association, to E. B. Crawford, Jr., Administrator, N. C. Memorial Bospital. Said <br />letter stated the costs in excess of the 3'20.00 per day in N. C. Memorial hospital during the past <br />two years on cases certified by the State Department of Public 'W'elfare, and urged the -recipients of <br />the letter to solicit active support for the request for additional funds which will be made in the <br />current session of the General Assembly. <br />Chairman Bennett read a letter from Mrs. James C. Brown, Chairman, Committee on Human <br />Resources, Chapel Hill League of Women Voters, inviting the Board members to attend a public <br />meeting on March 3, 1965, concerning a study of the underdeveloped human resources in the United <br />States today. <br />There being no further business. to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned to meet <br />again on March 15, 1965, at 10:00 o'clock a.m. as a Board of Equalization and Review. <br />Harvey D.
