The turn of phrase "gut instinct" also refers to the visceral, accessible <br />nature of the musical performances that the artists of this series will be <br />presenting. W e want to make "Historically Informed Performance" <br />accessible, relatable, and culturally relevant! W e also want to feature these <br />special pianos that are rarely heard by the public, along with great music by <br />female composers which has remained lesser known to the greater public <br />for far too long! <br />W here and W hen: <br />All three performances will take place in Person Recital Hall at UNC Chapel <br />Hill, which is where the two pianos are stored. Dates are 8/30, 9/13, and <br />3/1, all at 7:30 pm. The venue and dates are confirmed. <br />How: <br />In partnernship with the UNC Chapel Hill Music Department, MYCO <br />(concerts 1-3), and Mallarme Chamber Players NCHIP Festival (concert 3). <br />W ho: <br />Nicholas DiEugenio and Mimi Solomon (locally based artists, concerts 1-3), <br />with Raman Ramakrishan (concert 1), Kako Boga, Jessica Troy, Keiran <br />Campbell, and James W ilson (concert 3). All of these artists have specific <br />expertise in the field of 19th-century historically informed performance. <br />Keiran is also a noteworthy guest, as he is originally from Greensboro and <br />currently works as the principal cellist of Tafelmusik, a group based in <br />Toronto devoted to historically informed performance.
