Our
playwrights have embedded several delightful feature opportunities into
their script, including a North Pole Elf dance break and a finale featuring
Santa and all our community participants. Our production, directed by
company member Kathryn Hunter-W illiams and choreographed by Tracy
Bersley, will feature local actor Trevor Johnson in the role of Hezekiah as
well as Rasool Jahan in the roll of SilverBell
W ith project partners Seed Art Share, The ArtsCenter, and W alltown
Children’s Theatre, we also plan to host classes and rehearsals connecting
our artists with area youth. These engagements will explore acting and
performance techniques and introduce the world of “Hezekiah.” Participants
will then build applicable features for the production with our director,
choreographer, and a production assistant.
As part of PlayMakers’ efforts to both meet youth where they are and
expand engagement beyond our walls, we anticipate sharing space with
these partners at their own sites before moving to the theatre. W e plan for
3-6 hours of skill-building and 15 hours of rehearsal prior to tech at the
Center for Dramatic Art. During tech, featured youth artists will be
introduced and integrated into the broader professional theatre structure.
“Hezekiah” will run at the Center for Dramatic Art for 15 performances from
November 27-December 15.
Docusign Envelope ID: 5C256EF3-BBCD-4FD6-922F-A5FC9410DC42
