How many Orange
County residents
does the organization
serve?
359 students and 77 staff, for a total of 436
Has your
organization
undergone any
Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion (DEI)
training? If so,
please explain. If not,
please explain any
barriers that have
prevented you from
receiving this
training.
W e will continue our PTA equity and inclusion initiative during the next
academic year, via our participation in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
(DEI) committee that is led by our school administration. Our PTA goals are
to diversify our membership and board, provide DEI training, and create
more equitable PTA programs. For example, this year the PTA introduced
and funded a “True Book Fair” which allowed each student to choose two
new books for free, replacing the traditional book fair in which students
supplied their own funds. W e continue to work with our school social
worker and mental health specialists to identify relevant programming our
PTA can help implement with a DEI focus. This coming year we are also
working closely with other PTAs in our district to collaborate on DEI
focused programs and initiatives.
Our goal was to offer DEI training for the PTA this school year, but we did
not have the resources to implement a formal program, and instead learned
via our working relationships with the district’s DEI resources. In the 2024-
25 school year, we plan to partner with the NC PTA to offer online DEI
training for members on a voluntary basis.
During FY24-25, will
your organization
receive operational
support funding from
the North Carolina
Arts Council or the
North Carolina
Department of
Natural and Cultural
Resources?
No
Organization's EIN 560340503.0
Organization
W ebsite
https://sites.google.com/view/estes-hills-pta
Authorizing Official's
Name
Elizabeth Kalies
Authorizing Official's
Title
PTA Cultural Enrichment Program Chair
Authorizing Official's
Phone
919-357-6310
Authorizing Official's
Email
ekalies@gmail.com
Applicant Race W hite
Docusign Envelope ID: 29D07BFE-C479-466C-8F7C-D1E51121B1FE
