Audience Description CES students and staff will be audience members during the school day for <br />at least one of the performances. The demographics for the CES student <br />body is as follows: W hite-54%; Latinx-31%; Multiracial-6%; Asian-4%; <br />Black-4%; Native American-1%. For the additional <br />performances, we expect families and community members of all ages and <br />ethnicities to make up the audiences (similar demographics). <br />Location Description Carrboro Elementary School has its own stage and auditorium where the <br />plays are performed. The area around the school is a very walkable <br />community and there is ample parking at the school for folks who attend <br />evening and weekend performances. <br />Artist Description In this case, the artists will be the approximately 500 students at Carrboro <br />Elementary (grades K-5). The fourth and fifth graders will make up the cast <br />and technical crew for the performances. Students will be led by the art <br />teacher at CES, Ms. Deb Cox. She has a background in not only visual arts <br />but performing arts and has produced a play with the students at CES for <br />many years. <br />Are you hiring <br />multicultural artists <br />with the requested <br />funds from this <br />grant? <br />No <br />How will the <br />project/program be <br />publicized and <br />promoted to reach <br />intended <br />participants? <br />The Carrboro Elementary School community is experienced in getting the <br />word out about the annual play. All students will be aware of it as they will <br />work on the sets, props, costumes, etc. Staff and parents will certainly hear <br />about the play from the students! In addition, there will be flyers hung <br />throughout the school and the Carrboro community. Newsletters to parents <br />(teacher, PTA, principal) will all have information about the play. <br />How will you <br />evaluate the success <br />of the program? <br />The success of the program will be measured by the number of <br />performances (which will be determined by the call for seats), number of <br />attendees, comments from CES staff, and the reflections of students–who <br />are always honest about how they think things went! <br />PROJECT/PROGRAM <br />BUDGET <br />Please fill out the charts below with your project's expenses and income. <br />Use the "Explanation" box to offer details for each category.
