OC Motor Pool and Maintenance Shop <br />PDC Project 23017 Enclosed Switches and Circuit Breakers 26 28 16.16 - 2 <br />C.Product Listing Organization Qualifications: Third party agencies shall be amongst those <br />accredited by the NCBCC (North Carolina Building Code Council)to label Electrical and <br />Mechanical Equipment. <br />1.06 DELIVERY,STORAGE,AND HANDLING <br />A.Store in a clean,dry space. Maintain factory wrapping or provide an additional heavy canvas or <br />heavy plastic cover to protect units from dirt,water,construction debris,and traffic. <br />B.Handle carefully in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions to avoid damage to <br />enclosed switch internal components,enclosure,and finish. <br />1.07 FIELD CONDITIONS <br />A.Maintain ambient temperature between 23 degrees F and 104 degrees F during and after <br />installation of enclosed circuit breakers. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MANUFACTURERS <br />A.ABB/GE;______: www.geindustrial.com/#sle. <br />B.Eaton Corporation. <br />C.Schneider Electric;Square D Products. <br />D.Source Limitations: Furnish enclosed switches and associated components produced by the same <br />manufacturer as the other electrical distribution equipment used for this project and obtained from <br />a single supplier. <br />2.02 ENCLOSED SAFETY SWITCHES <br />A.Description: Quick-make,quick-break enclosed safety switches listed and labeled as complying <br />with UL 98;heavy duty;ratings,configurations,and features as indicated on the drawings. <br />B.Provide products listed,classified,and labeled as suitable for the purpose intended. <br />C.All switches shall be heavy duty type. <br />D.Unless otherwise indicated,provide products suitable for continuous operation under the following <br />service conditions: <br />1.Altitude: Less than 6,600 feet. <br />2.Ambient Temperature:Between -22 degrees F and 104 degrees F. <br />E.Horsepower Rating: Suitable for connected load. <br />F.Voltage Rating: Suitable for circuit voltage. <br />G.Auxilary Contacts:Suitable for 120v rated control circuit.Contractor is to provide auxilary contacts <br />in any disconnecting means that is downstream from a frequency drive.aux contacts shall be <br />mechanically tied to switching mechanisims and shall provide both a N.O.and N.C.contacts.verify <br />with DIV 23 prior to ordering equipment. <br />H.Short Circuit Current Rating: <br />1.Provide enclosed safety switches,when protected by the fuses or supply side overcurrent <br />protective devices to be installed,with listed short circuit current rating not less than the <br />available fault current at the installed location as indicated on the drawings. <br />2.When a power system study is included in the contract,confirm the short circuit current rating <br />of all devices with the results of the study prior to submitting for approval. <br />I.Enclosed Safety Switches Used for Service Entrance: Listed and labeled as suitable for use as <br />service equipment according to UL 869A. <br />J.Provide with switch blade contact position that is visible when the cover is open. <br />K.Fuse Clips for Fusible Switches: As required to accept fuses indicated. <br />1.Where NEMA Class R fuses are installed,provide rejection feature to prevent installation of <br />fuses other than Class R. <br />L.Conductor Terminations: Suitable for use with the conductors to be installed. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: EF9C08D2-5B75-438B-8D6D-8473F81BD7C4
