OC Motor Pool and Maintenance Shop <br />PDC Project 23017 Enclosed Switches and Circuit Breakers 26 28 16.16 - 1 <br />SECTION 26 28 16.16 <br /> ENCLOSED SWITCHES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A.Enclosed safety switches. <br />B.Enclosed circuit breakers. <br />1.02 REFERENCE STANDARDS <br />A.NFPA 70 -National Electrical Code;Most Recent Edition Adopted by Authority Having Jurisdiction, <br />Including All Applicable Amendments and Supplements. <br />B.UL 489 -Molded-Case Circuit Breakers,Molded-Case Switches and Circuit Breaker Enclosures; <br />Current Edition,Including All Revisions. <br />1.03 ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS <br />A.Coordination: <br />1.Coordinate the work with other trades. Avoid placement of ductwork,piping,equipment,or <br />other potential obstructions within the dedicated equipment spaces and within working <br />clearances for electrical equipment required by NFPA 70. <br />2.Coordinate arrangement of electrical equipment with the dimensions and clearance <br />requirements of the actual equipment to be installed. <br />3.Verify with manufacturer that conductor terminations are suitable for use with the conductors <br />to be installed. <br />4.Notify Architect of any conflicts with or deviations from Contract Documents.Obtain direction <br />before proceeding with work. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A.Product Data: Provide manufacturer's standard catalog pages and data sheets for enclosed <br />switches and other installed components and accessories. <br />B.Shop Drawings: Indicate outline and support point dimensions,voltage and current ratings,short <br />circuit current ratings,conduit entry locations,conductor terminal information,and installed <br />features and accessories. <br />1.Include wiring diagrams showing all factory and field connections. <br />2.Contractor shall confirm that all lug sizes and quantities submitted are compatible with the <br />conductors specified on the contract documents.Changes required to lug sizes and <br />quantities due to lack of coordination between the contractor and the supplier are to be made <br />at the contractor's expense. <br />3.It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure that the equipment submitted to comply with the <br />requirements of this section are in compliance with the requirements and recommendations <br />of the power system studies.Any changes recommended by the power system study shall be <br />incorporated at no expense to the project. <br />C.Field Quality Control Test Reports. <br />D.Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate application conditions and limitations of use <br />stipulated by product testing agency. Include instructions for storage,handling,protection, <br />examination,preparation,installation,and starting of product. <br />E.Project Record Documents: Record actual locations of enclosed switches or circuit breakers. <br />F.Maintenance Data: Include information on replacement parts and recommended maintenance <br />procedures and intervals. <br />1.05 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.Comply with requirements of NFPA 70. <br />B.Maintain at the project site a copy of each referenced document that prescribes execution <br />requirements. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: EF9C08D2-5B75-438B-8D6D-8473F81BD7C4
