OC Motor Pool and Maintenance Shop <br />PDC Project 23017 Conduit for Electrical Systems 26 05 33.13 - 3 <br />1.All feeder stub ups shall transition below grade from PVC to rigid a minimum of 3 feet <br />horizontally from stub up location. <br />2.All branch circuit stub ups,where exposed or in non-CMU walls,shall transition to rigid <br />galvanized steel at 90 degree elbow. <br />3.Schedule 40 rigid polyvinyl (PVC)stub ups are only allowed where conduits come up in CMU <br />walls or the bottom of floor mounted equipment. <br />G.Unfinished spaces subject to damage (Electrical,Mechanical etc.) <br />1.All conduit in unfinished spaces shall rigid galvanized steel.Conduit is not considered subject <br />to damage when installed at least 10 feet above finished floor or tight to structure. <br />2.Conduits are not required to transition to transition to rigid galvanized steel where they are <br />routed down into panelboards or other wall mounted equipment. <br />H.Exposed,Interior finished spaces: Use surface metal raceway as identified on the drawings. <br />1.Surface metal raceway shall be manufactured by Wiremold or approved equal. <br />2.A separate equipment ground conductor shall be run in the surface metal raceway. <br />I.Connection to vibrating equipment shall be made with flexible metal conduit or liquid tight flexible <br />metal conduit depending on the environment installed. <br />J.Connections to Luminaires Above Accessible Ceilings: Use flexible metal conduit shall be <br />allowed. <br />1.Maximum Length: 6 feet. <br />K.Connections to Vibrating Equipment: <br />1.Dry Locations: Use flexible metal conduit. <br />2.Damp,Wet,or Corrosive Locations: Use liquidtight flexible metal conduit. <br />3.Maximum Length: 6 feet unless otherwise indicated. <br />4.Vibrating equipment includes,but is not limited to: <br />a.Transformers. <br />b.Motors. <br />c.Generators. <br />2.02 CONDUIT REQUIREMENTS <br />A.Existing Work: Where existing conduits are indicated to be reused,they may be reused only <br />where they comply with specified requirements,are free from corrosion,and integrity is verified by <br />pulling a mandrel through them. <br />B.Provide all conduit,fittings,supports,and accessories required for a complete raceway system. <br />C.Provide products listed,classified,and labeled as suitable for the purpose intended. <br />D.Minimum Conduit Size,Unless Otherwise Indicated: <br />1.Interior: 3/4 inch (21 mm)trade size. <br />2.Flexible Connections to Luminaires: ​1/2 inch (13 mm)​trade size. <br />3.Exterior: 1 inch (27 mm)trade size. <br />2.03 GALVANIZED STEEL RIGID METAL CONDUIT (RMC) <br />A.Manufacturers: <br />1.Allied Tube &Conduit. <br />2.Republic Conduit. <br />3.Wheatland Tube Company. <br />4.or approved equal. <br />B.Description: NFPA 70,Type RMC standard weight mild steel,hot dipped galvanized,sherardised <br />or zinc-coated rigid metal conduit complying with ANSI C80.1 and listed and labeled as complying <br />with UL 6. <br />C.Fittings: <br />1.Manufacturers: <br />a.Thomas &Betts Corporation. <br />b.Rayco. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: EF9C08D2-5B75-438B-8D6D-8473F81BD7C4
