OC Motor Pool and Maintenance Shop <br />PDC Project 23017 Power Conductors and Cables 26 05 19 - 1 <br />SECTION 26 05 19 <br /> POWER CONDUCTORS AND CABLES <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A.Single conductor building wire. <br />B.Underground feeder and branch-circuit cable. <br />C.Wiring connectors. <br />D.Electrical tape. <br />E.Oxide inhibiting compound. <br />F.Wire pulling lubricant. <br />1.02 REFERENCE STANDARDS <br />A.ASTM B3 -Standard Specification for Soft or Annealed Copper Wire;2013 (Reapproved 2018). <br />B.ASTM B8 -Standard Specification for Concentric-Lay-Stranded Copper Conductors,Hard, <br />Medium-Hard,or Soft;2011 (Reapproved 2017). <br />C.ASTM B33 -Standard Specification for Tin-Coated Soft or Annealed Copper Wire for Electrical <br />Purposes;2010,with Editorial Revision (2020). <br />D.ASTM B787/B787M -Standard Specification for 19 Wire Combination Unilay-Stranded Copper <br />Conductors for Subsequent Insulation;2004 (Reapproved 2020). <br />E.NFPA 70 -National Electrical Code;National Fire Protection Association,Including All Applicable <br />Amendments and Supplements;2020. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A.Product Data: Provide manufacturer's standard catalog pages and data sheets for conductors and <br />cables,including detailed information on materials,construction,ratings,listings,and available <br />sizes,configurations,and stranding. <br />B.Field Quality Control Test Reports. <br />C.Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate application conditions and limitations of use <br />stipulated by product testing agency.Include instructions for storage,handling,protection, <br />examination,preparation,and installation of product. <br />D.Project Record Documents: Record actual installed circuiting arrangements.Record actual routing <br />of exterior below grade conduit and associated hand holes or man holes.. <br />E.Maintenance Materials: Furnish the following for Owner's use in maintenance of project. <br />1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.Comply with requirements of NFPA 70. <br />B.Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing the products specified in this <br />section with minimum five years documented experience. <br />C.Product Listing Organization Qualifications: Third party agencies shall be amongst those <br />accredited by the NCBCC (North Carolina Building Code Council)to label Electrical and <br />Mechanical Equipment. <br />1.05 DELIVERY,STORAGE,AND HANDLING <br />A.Receive,inspect,handle,and store conductors and cables in accordance with manufacturer's <br />instructions. <br />1.06 FIELD CONDITIONS <br />A.Do not install or otherwise handle thermoplastic-insulated conductors at temperatures lower than <br />14 degrees F,unless otherwise permitted by manufacturer's instructions.When installation below <br />this temperature is unavoidable,notify Architect and obtain direction before proceeding with work. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />Docusign Envelope ID: EF9C08D2-5B75-438B-8D6D-8473F81BD7C4
