Location Description Project location: <br />The project will take place in the UNC-Chapel Hill's Hill Hall. The rehearsals <br />will take place in Hill Hall 107 and Moeser Auditorium. The building and <br />space are accessible to those with physical and mental disabilities. <br />Concert location: <br />The concert will take place in Moeser Auditorium at UNC-Chapel Hill. The <br />building and hall were renovated in 2017 and include accommodations to <br />allow access to those with physical and mental disabilities. There is parking <br />directly outside the entrance to the building for those with disabilities. <br />Artist Description MYCO works with a symbiotic combination of local and visiting artists, <br />many of whom are multicultural. Artists are chosen for their level of <br />musicianship, their ability to teach and work with diverse student <br />populations, and their openness to collaboration and teamwork. The <br />following artists listed are examples of past and current MYCO faculty <br />artists. MYCO students work with all of these artists, and these artists also <br />collaborate with one another both within the state of North Carolina but also <br />nationally and, in some cases, internationally. <br />1- Clara Yang, cellist (local artist) <br />Past positions include cello faculty at the Colburn School’s Community <br />School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, the Lucy Moses School at <br />Kaufman Center, the Preparatory Center for Music at Brooklyn College, the <br />Mozart Academy at John Jay College, and the Preparatory Studies in <br />Music at Queens College in New York, as well as Rhode Island <br />Philharmonic Music School and Providence College in Rhode Island. Dr. <br />Yang’s former students have won top prizes at numerous competitions <br />such as Enkor International Music Competition, CalASTA String <br />Competition, Great Composers Competition, Los Angeles Violoncello <br />Society Competition, Satori String Competition, and have been accepted <br />into top institutions such as The Juilliard School, Jacobs School of Music at <br />Indiana University and Northwestern’s Bienen School of Music. <br />2- Mari Sato, violinist (visiting artist) <br />Former member of the Cavani String Quartet, currently substitute violinist <br />with The Cleveland Orchestra. <br />3- Timothy Holley, cellist (local artist) <br />Faculty member at NC Central. He has participated in recent Gateways <br />Music Festivals for Black Classical Musicians at the Eastman School of <br />Music, Rochester, New York (2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017) and the <br />VIDEMUS@25 Festival at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill <br />(2012). <br />4- Jonathan Bagg, violist (local artist) <br />Ciompi Quartet, Duke University. <br />5- Grace Anderson, cellist (local artist) <br />Has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout United <br />States and Europe, appearing at Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center, W eill <br />Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Aspen Music Festival, Caramoor Festival, <br />Docusign Envelope ID: F72C8FCD-001E-42EF-9838-C92A0ECDE2DA
