We focus
on the early years of a child’s life from birth to age five, which is the most critical time
in a child’s development. Our priorities focus on the county’s families and children to
eradicate predictive outcomes for children based on race, cultures, or adverse
childhood experiences, instead, building on the strengths of the child-family unit for
positive outcomes.
OCPYC manages programs having a variety of funding sources, including federal,
state, and private grants, for which budget management and timely implementation
of program activities are imperative. As the county administrator for Smart Start and
NC Pre-K, OCPYC manages compliance, site monitoring, technical assistance, site
payments, and reporting. As a past grantee of Human Services funding, OCPYC has
met its objectives and budget requirements. OCPYC implements multiple literacy
programs, including Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Ready4K, and Raising a
Reader and has hosted the Orange County Campaign for Grade Level Reading—each
with different program and budget demands.
OCPYC follows the living wage policy guidelines of Orange County Living Wage but is
not yet certified.
Docusign Envelope ID: CAC7EC7C-77BA-407E-AAC1-F02C0C75525F
