Please
include specific examples, such as a logic model.
Please briefly describe how your proposed programs aligns with evidence-based approaches to addressing
human service need(s).
The Project For Accessible Resources (PAR) will enhance the lives of Chapel Hill and
Carrboro residents by providing technology training and inter-agency collaborative
meetings. Approximately 54 individuals will be divided into 8 week technology training
modules with three sessions per week. They will learn to use smart phones, tablets or
computers with accessible software. There will be monthly inter-agency meetings with
consumers and service providers to exchange knowledge about best practices to
interact with people with disabilities and available community resources. By providing
technology training and community resources, OCDAC consumers will
be empowered with the skills to be self-advocates, acquire employment, and increase
their levels of independence and self-confidence.
In order to assess the progress of each student in our technology training, we will be
utilizing the TrainingWare cloud-based curriculum which provides pre- and post-
assessments throughout the curriculum. Participants must score 80% or higher in
order to proceed to the next lesson.
While participating in the monthly Inter-Agency meetings, each participant will engage
in conversations with fellow consumers and community agency participants. All
consumer attendees will be given information, (in an accessible format), of the
available community resources. At the end of each meeting, there will be questions
addressed to the consumers to assess the knowledge that was obtained during the
meetings. Surveys will be conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the meetings.
The PAR program is designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities by
providing them with the necessary skills and resources to enhance their lives. OCDAC
is aware of the needs of the people that they serve because the majority of the staff is
comprised of people with disabilities and they demonstrate their abilities by example.
They know the best practices to use when providing training and the available
resources to meet their diverse needs.
Docusign Envelope ID: 445D3246-51E8-4212-AB07-F1D18E18D7C6
