Actual Outcomes 2022-2023 Projected Outcomes 2023-2024 Program Goal #1: Provide an Earthkeepers Afterschool program for approximately 50 students at Carrboro Elementary School 1 day a week for 2 hours a day, for approximately 8 weeks per semester. Performance Measure: Coordinate with the afterschool managers to develop and keep a check in sheet with students’ names. Program Goal #2: Students will demonstrate awareness and naturalist skills. Performance Measure: Counselors will observe students successfully demonstrating awareness and naturalist skills during specific stealth games and guided explorations. Program Goal #3: Students will increase their desire and amount of time spent outside beyond the time in our program. Performance Measure: Counselors will ask all participants if they spent time outside at home or with friends and share stories from those experiences each week. Due to the complications with too many students and not enough staff at Carrboro elementary, we were not able to do the afterschool program. Instead, we used the funds to help with the day camps that were held during teacher workdays and holidays. Our staff was able to connect with different students and still observed students demonstrating nature knowledge and awareness skills as well as their enthusiasm as a whole to spend time outside. We worked with the students for 7 workdays/holidays throughout the school year averaging 20 kids per day. Program did not operate in 23-24 due to lack of funding.
