For over 50
years, the Burwell School has offered many visitor services, averaging around 4000
annual visitors pre-COVID while continually enhancing the site and its interpretations.
Some of our most notable accomplishments: researching and incorporating the
stories of free and enslaved people of color, including famed modiste Elizabeth Keckly;
offering free tours to bring history to guests of all backgrounds; and hosting public
events both on-site and virtually, covering a range of educational topics.
Docusign Envelope ID: F5E5F5C2-1D2F-4220-AB83-15724033E4F0
