To do so, OCHM staff works with
various members of the community and community groups to determine what
content should be presented and how to promote shared authority in the museum.
Decisions regarding the selection of exhibit topics and content are made in
consultation with civic groups, elected officials, public and homeschool educators,
local families, and organizations representing minority groups, such as the
Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation Tribal Council and Free Spirit Freedom.
Continuous feedback is solicited from guests after viewing the exhibits and/or
participating in programs. Additionally, pre-visit consultations are always conducted
with any special tour group, including with educators.
Docusign Envelope ID: 711B0470-AB31-4239-BFAB-654356E2FD21
