He is an invaluable
addition to the KCI team.
Dominic has worked on the following projects with KCI:
✓ Capture Study, The Recycling Partnership, Folsom, CA
Domanic holds the role of Field Manager for a two-phase capture study being conducted in Folsom,
California. This study comprises two phases and incorporates tiered education for residents
between Phase 1 and Phase 2 Sort, aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of different types of
education and outreach efforts. Domanic has been actively involved in collaborating with TRP and
the City of Folsom to strategically plan and execute Phase 1 of the study. Phase 2 is scheduled to
take place in May 2024.
✓ Waste Composition Study, Manatee County, FL
Domanic served as the Field Manager for a one-week WCS conducted in Manatee County, FL. This
study involved sampling and hand-sorting samples of mixed waste disposed of at the county landfill.
Throughout the planning process, Domanic closely collaborated with the project manager to
effectively plan and execute the study. Following the completion of fieldwork, Domanic contributed
to the preparation of both the draft and final reports, encompassing all aspects of the study.
Furthermore, this study is slated to be replicated in August 2024 to accommodate changes in
seasonality. Its aim is to provide the county with a comprehensive evaluation of the materials being
disposed of at the landfill.
✓ Multiple Community Longitudinal Capture Studies, The Recycling Partnership, United States
Domanic serves as Field Manager or Sort Supervisor on these KCI-led studies to research generation
rates, capture systems and processing infrastructure of solid waste and recyclables in several
regions throughout the country over a two-year period. Domanic recently conducted capture
studies for TRP in Napa, CA, Olympia, WA, and Minot, ND.
