Orange County, North Carolina <br />Proposal - Waste Characterization Study <br /> <br /> Orange County WCS KCI Proposal <br />11 <br />Deliverables: <br />• 5-day sampling and sorting event. <br />Note: The County is welcome to invite local press, student media, or other interested individuals to the <br />WCS location as a component of the County’s public outreach campaign. We have extensive experience <br />successfully interacting with media staff, including television, radio, and newspaper. KCI staff can <br />accommodate visitors to the site and will be happy to explain the study procedures and objectives. <br />Task 4 – Analyze Data and Prepare Final Report <br />KCI will analyze the WCS data from the sampling and sorting event for each generator sector, compare <br />the data to the previous WCS, and report the results to the County. <br />Activities: <br />• Analyze the data from the sampling and sorting event for each jurisdiction and generator sector. <br />Calculate the overall MSW composition by weighting the results for each jurisdiction and <br />generator sector by that program’s contribution to the total annual tons of MSW collected. KCI <br />will calculate the 90 percent confidence interval for each material category in the compositions. <br />• Prepare a Draft Report summarizing the methodology, results, and conclusions of the WCS, <br />including the composition for each jurisdiction and generator sector, an aggregate countywide <br />composition, and comparison to the 2016/2017 WCS. <br />• Prepare a Final Report based on feedback from County staff. <br />Deliverables: <br />• Draft and Final Report. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />This section was intentionally left blank. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 1223AA0B-DDEC-4EBE-8FEA-427010558A5C
