Position Description <br /> Administration 1 1 Major The Major of Courts, Detention and <br /> Transportation is responsible for the daily <br /> operation and security of three courthouses, <br /> one operational detention facility and <br /> detainee transport services which serves <br /> both the court and detention facilities. <br /> Serves on the Sheriff's Command Staff and <br /> provides management oversight of the <br /> Captain, Lieutenant and staff. The Major <br /> reports from the Detention Center location. <br /> 1 1 Detention Serves as the senior manager dedicated <br /> Captain exclusively to OCDC. Beyond assisting the <br /> Major in daily operations,the Captain <br /> performs numerous administrative <br /> operations including external contact with <br /> hospitals and health facilities; billings and <br /> financial services, grants management; <br /> audits and reconciles various systems. <br /> • Prepares various monthly reports; prepares <br /> 4-week work schedule; addresses detainee <br /> and personnel issues; directly supervises <br /> Transportation,and performs several other <br /> duties, as assigned. <br /> 1 1 Lieutenant • Responsible for varied generalist duties and <br /> special projects to include development and <br /> update of policies and procedures, <br /> scheduling of housing searches and canine <br /> inspections. <br /> • Monitors Homewav (video visitation)video <br /> feeds; responds to detainee issues regarding <br /> jail issues; manages all vendors (excluding <br /> Kitchen),detainee hygiene program, and jail <br /> ministry program. <br /> • Oversees kitchen supervisor; begins <br /> investigation of any official complaints; <br /> supports detention staff, as needed; and <br /> performs other duties,as assigned. <br /> Detention 4 4 Det. • Detention Sergeants perform as first-line <br /> Services Sergeants supervisors within the OCDC. Beyond staff <br /> supervision, sergeants are primarily <br /> responsible for shift-related administrative <br /> work, performing booking tasks in the JMS, <br /> detainee release support,and resolution of <br /> 4 4 Det.
