Introduction <br /> The following descriptive profile outlines the organization, structure, and staffing of the <br /> Orange County Detention Center (OCDC). The information contained in the profile has <br /> been developed through interviews conducted OCDC staff as well as preliminary data <br /> collection information. <br /> It is important to note that the primary objective of this profile is to review and confirm <br /> our current understanding of the staffing and key operations of the OCDC and gain <br /> confirmation of our understanding through a review of this interim deliverable which is <br /> one of the precursors to a Draft Report. The profile includes: <br /> • The organizational structure of the Detention Center. <br /> • Summary descriptions of staff authorized positions by type, key duties and <br /> responsibilities, and authorized and actual staffing levels based on budgetary and <br /> other documents. <br /> • A listing of functional work areas in the jail. <br /> • Other descriptive data, as appropriate, that help frame the existing staffing and <br /> operations of the OCDC. <br /> The profile serves as the first deliverable of this project and should be considered a <br /> document that will be developed further and be updated as the project progresses. The <br /> profile is the foundation for our assumptions regarding staffing and current organizational <br /> characteristics of the functional areas included in the scope of the study. As such, it is <br /> critical this product be reviewed and corrected for accuracy and completeness by <br /> appropriate OCDC staff and the project's Steering Committee. <br /> Matrix Consulting Group 62 <br />
