Orange County Arts Commission Arts & Economic Survey Data Presentation <br /> 10 The Board received a report on local findings from the Sixth National Arts & Economic Prosperity <br /> 11 Survey in 2023. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 BACKGROUND: Americans for the Arts conducts the Arts & Economic Prosperity Survey to <br /> 14 determine the impact of the nonprofit arts sector on local communities. The survey takes place <br /> 15 nationwide in all 50 states and utilizes the IMPLAN (short for "impact analysis for planning") <br /> 16 economic modeling tool to determine the impact of nonprofit arts agencies and the audiences <br /> 17 they attract. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 The Arts & Economic Prosperity Survey 6 (AEP6) occurred throughout 2023. The Orange County <br /> 20 Arts Commission (OCAC), along with the towns of Hillsborough, Carrboro, and Chapel Hill <br /> 21 gathered spending data from 103 arts agencies and gathered 1,200 audience surveys from <br /> 22 attendees at arts events throughout Orange County. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Staff's presentation on the report findings will review arts agencies and audiences spending in <br /> 25 the communities, how the data differs in each town, and how Orange County compares to other <br /> 26 similar communities across the country.
