65 <br /> Detention Center Staffing Analysis Orange County, NC <br /> 29. Arrestee is provided with Inmate Handbook, towel, sheets, etc. <br /> 30. Arrestee is escorted to Housing and supervision is handed over to Housing Officer <br /> to take arrestee to their assigned housing unit. <br /> 31 . Staff close out the arrestee booking record and transition to in-custody inmate. <br /> Some of the above steps may be conducted in a different sequence based on the <br /> individual, their cooperation, and other activities in the booking area. The above is the <br /> recommended, ideal process for a cooperative arrestee. These steps should be used as <br /> an outline and tailored to meet the operational needs of Orange County. <br /> Recommended Release Process <br /> The following steps outline the recommended release process for detainees who in the <br /> custody of the Orange County Sheriff's Office at the Detention Center. This process <br /> should generally be followed for individuals who are released on bond, own recognizance, <br /> judicial order, or after they have completed their time served. <br /> 1 . Release request is received from appropriate authority (e.g., bond receipt, judicial <br /> order, etc.). <br /> 2. Release Staff review the documentation to ensure that the documentation is <br /> complete and that a release should occur. <br /> 3. Staff call the Housing Officer and indicates who is being released. <br /> 4. Housing Officer goes into housing unit and informs detainee they are being <br /> released. <br /> 5. Detainee gathers their personal affects and institutional issued items. <br /> 6. Housing Officer escorts the detainee out of the housing unit and to the release <br /> area. <br /> 7. Release staff receive the detainee in the booking/release area. <br /> 8. Detainee is escorted to the inmate property area. <br /> 9. Staff will catalog the institutional supplies and confirms that all items have been <br /> received and in appropriate condition. <br /> 10.
